Applying for Breeding Eligibility

When your dog is at least 24 months old and you believe that it has already met the Large Munsterlander Association of America field testing requirements for breeding eligibility, please contact the Breeding Officer to receive instructions before moving on to hip and elbow certification activities!

Once it has been confirmed by the Breeding Officer that your dog meets field testing, conformation, and other health requirements, you will need to schedule an appointment with your vet in order to obtain hip and elbow dysplasia certification as described below:

Hip and Elbow Dysplasia Certifications
Hip and elbow evaluation is required. X-rays must be sent digitally in some manner (OFA stopped accepting non-digital images in

July 2025). The vast majority of veterinarians are familiar with this process, full details on what is required for labelling of the

x-rays and complete submission procedures can be found on the OFA website.

    - Dogs must be at least 24 months of age.

    - Have your vet take high quality radiograph, with dog awake or under anesthesia as appropriate for the dog.

    - Film/images should show required labeling for OFA plates.

    - The evaluation charges will be explained by your veterinarian, who will either upload the images directly to OFA, email them

to applications@offa.org, or send digitally on CD or USB memory stick via snail mail to the address below:

If you have previously sent x-rays for certification to Dr. Farrow in Canada, sadly for LMAA he retired at the end of 2024.  LMAA deeply appreciates the tremendous services he provided for our dogs and breeding program for many, many years.

For new kennels, owners of LMAA, LMAC, or European-approved females should contact the Breeding Officer regarding establishing a kennel and requirements for kennel names.  Once the kennel name is approved, it will be added to the LMAA Approved Breeders webpage with contact information.
